THE DAY JOBS
I have been working for over 11 years at Skylark Images of Sonoma County in digital fine art reproduction; for 6 years I have also been employed doing post-capture work for a local nature photographer.
IN THE FIELD
Shooting everything in sight with my fabulous EOS Canon 7D DSLR, and a growing collection of great lenses.
IN THE DARKROOM
To process my raw captures I stick with Adobe's "super-applications" most notably Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver and Illustrator, as well as a small lineup of solid 3rd party support software. I work on a Mac.
T.M.I. ALERT
I grew up in Marin County, California and graduated from Tam High in Mill Valley. I then attended Hebrew University, Jerusalem / Mt Scopus with a dual major in English Lit and Art History. After several wonderful years in Israel I moved to San Francisco where I met and worked with Master Printer, sculptor, and artist Thomas Wojak, who will always be my guiding mentor. My background is in traditional graphics and printmaking, specifically serigraphy. Essentially, I am a printmaker who loves to take pictures: I have spent my entire adult life printing something…somewhere.
WHY PHOTOGRAPHY?
The world around us has so much interest and beauty, and the more I photograph, the more I see of it. On some days, I only stop taking pictures because of the darkness, inclement weather, or insects.
